Following a career in Architectural Stained Glass culminating in a Conservation role in Canterbury Cathedral, Celia decided on a huge change of scale. With this in mind she retrained in Botanical Painting at The Chelsea Physic Gardens in London, emerging with a diploma in 2002. Since then she has participated in numerous joint shows including ASBA and HSNY Annual Show, won awards (including an RHS Gold Medal in 2004) and has work in numerous public and private collections, including the Hunt Institute of Botanical Documentation and Royal Botanical Gardens Kew. She works in watercolour and graphite on paper and vellum. At present she is 'Artist in Residence' at Hidcote Manor Garden, a National Trust property in England.
