Sheila received her Certificate of Botanical Illustration from Leicester College in 2004. She has studied several short courses at The Chelsea Physic Garden, including those tutored by Anne-Marie Evans and Jenny Phillips.
Sheila is an enthusiastic member of The Leicestershire Society of Botanical Illustrators, with which she exhibits regularly.
In 2005 she was awarded a Silver Medal by The Royal Horticultural Society, London for her paintings of fungi in their natural habitat. She has exhibited for the past five years with The Society of Botanical Artists in Westminster Central Hall, London and in 2007 was awarded a Certificate of Botanical Merit and in 2008 full membership of the Society.
Sheila enjoys working in mixed media - watercolour and graphite - and finds depicting plants/fungi in their natural habitat her most successful work. Her paintings are held in several private collections, including some in London and New York.
