| Ingrid Finnan |
| Ingrid turned to botanical art in 2006 marking a shift from her former career in Decorative textile design. Inspiration for her current botanical artwork comes from her continued admiration of the Dutch flower painters of the 17th Century. Their remarkable ability in capturing the depth and luminosity of flowers, fruits, and plants remains a challenge to any contemporary botanical artist choosing to work in oils. Her exhibition history includes: ASBA International Juried Botanical Exhibitions (2006-2009); Filoli Annual Botanical Art Exhibitions (2007-2009), Focus on Nature X at the New York State Museum, Albany, NY (2008); A Closer Look at Cactus & Succulents, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Tucson, AZ (2009); A Botanical Celebration, Tidemark Gallery, Waldeboro, ME (2009); A Natural Perspective, Phoenix Art Museum, Phoenix, AZ (2009) and Losing Paradise? Endangered Plants Here and Around the World, ASBA traveling exhibit (2009-2010). Ingrid Finnan 2727 Palisade Ave. Apt. 5J Bronx, New York 10463-1020 718-549-2467 Email: infinnan@gmail.com |
