She is a botanical and wildlife artist who has exhibited in the U.S. and U.K., and whose work has appeared in journals, magazines and newsletters as well as a limited edition book, Endangered Species of North America. Her work is held in several private and corporate collections. She says of work: "I paint to remember. I paint to remember the feeling of awe at what I'm seeing. I imagine looking through a window at a piece of nature and finding a whole world. The living world is different through each window. The rich colors of midday change with evening light, shadows, or rain. Abstract shapes and patterns shift in and out of notice. A leopard frog hides among bog plants, eyed by a heron that's frozen by my presence. The windows of may paintings open into a active nature." Patricia Savage Telephone: 919.859.2789 |
