Biographical and content note
Jean François de Galaup (Comte) de La Pérouse (1741–1788) was a French botanist and navigator. This letter, dated 3 July 1783, Paris, to an unknown person, claims that a greater sum was owed to La Pérouse for passengers he brought home in L’Astree and L’Engageante after his Hudson’s Bay Expedition in 1782. Two pages, bound into a volume by a previous owner. In French.
